Hi!

We're so glad you've found us! We are Ashley & Travis, and we've lived on our farm since 2017. We're raising our 2 kids on the same patch of ground Ashley's great-grandmother purchased and moved her 4 children to in 1955. Our goals are two-fold: be good stewards of this land as we adopt regenerative farming practices and raise the healthiest, best-tasting food for our children and our neighbors to gather and share together.

Our Story

Our farm began as Ashley's great-grandmother's farm. Susie, as single mother of 4, bought this property in 1955. She almost immediately built a conventional chicken house to begin raising chickens as a source of income for her family. Eventually Mo & Ida, Ashley's grandmother, settled down to raise their own family just down the road, and Mo helped his mother on the farm for the rest of her life. Eventually the chicken houses were closed as conventional standards became increasingly too expensive for Susie to maintain, but Mo raised cattle on the land, which he farmed around his railroad career.

As Susie's family expanded, she became Mamaw Wigley, and some of Ashley's first memories are from Christmas Eves and Easters with all the large family squeezed into her Mamaw Wigley's house. Summer visits were spent riding The Big Green Tractor with her Pop while he bailed hay or planted potatoes or corn.

When Travis & Ashley decided to build their forever home, there was only one place that felt like "home," and it's tucked in the middle of the farm under some old oak trees. Now, Ashley's family continues to gather on this farm for holidays with new generations and in-laws in tow.

Gathering around food has always been central to our family's story. As we raise our own 2 children, we have become increasingly aware of food's immediate and long-term affects on our health. We've watched our family struggle with chronic illnesses and have experienced food intolerances in ourselves and our children since their birth. It's said, "you are what you eat." We believe it's more accurate that "you are what your food eats".

Our intent is to provide clean, nutrient dense food for our family that we know exactly what went in to the growing and processing of that food.

As we have learned more about soil health and regenerative practices, we have become passionate about healing our land from the years of cattle-grazing, hay-cutting, and bit of neglect as Pop has gotten older. This, in particular, will take time, but we know it can be done with rotational grazing and intentional cultivation of biodiversity. Environmental stewardship is a partnership with nature, caring for our land and animals without using pesticides, chemicals, and other artificial growth hormones. Our livestock live their lives the way they were born to live - out on pasture rather than confined in conventional houses with no access to grasses or sunshine or fresh air.

As we make intentional steps to provide a healthier lifestyle for our family, we think there are others who would like the same opportunity for their own family - people like you who are looking for healthier, local food sources.

As you shop for the best options for your family, we appreciate your visit here and are always available to answer any questions you may have about us, our practices, or our commitment to clean, healthy food. To truly accomplish our vision for a regenerative and sustainable farm, we need need people to come along side us on this journey. We look forward to growing this community!

Thanks again,

Ashley & Travis
